Edit orders after they're placed, without the workarounds
Shopify lets you edit a draft order easily — but a real, placed order is a different story. NV Order Editor adds a proper editing screen for existing orders: change quantities, tags, PO numbers, shipping, and metafields directly, duplicate any past order in one click, and automatically cancel-and-recreate the order for changes Shopify's own edit API refuses, like swapping the customer or changing a fulfilled line's price.
One screen for every order change
NV Order Editor adds a full edit screen to every order in your Shopify admin, built directly on Shopify's order-editing API. Change line item quantities, add or remove tags, set a PO number, update shipping and metafields, and save — the app handles the API calls, tag bookkeeping, and error messages. For the handful of changes Shopify's edit API can't apply in place (a different customer, a price change on an already-fulfilled line, a currency change), the app cancels the order and creates an exact replacement automatically, writing a clear note to both orders' timelines so the history stays intact. On the Growth plan and above, customers can make a limited set of their own changes — contact info, address, items — for a merchant-configured window after checkout, right from their Shopify customer account.

Benefits for Shopify merchants
Stop rebuilding orders by hand
A wrong quantity, a missing PO number, or a tag your fulfillment process depends on — fix it directly on the order instead of cancelling it and starting over, or asking a developer to run a script.
Handle the edits Shopify won't let you make
Changing the customer or the price on an already-fulfilled line isn't possible through Shopify's own order editing. The app detects exactly which edits need it, cancels the order, and creates a correct replacement with a full paper trail.
Let customers fix their own mistakes
Turn on a short editing window and shoppers can correct their own address or add an item themselves, right after checkout — fewer support tickets, and the order still ships on time.
A simple merchant-facing workflow
Open any order from your Shopify admin through the app and edit quantities, tags, PO number, shipping, or metafields directly.
Save. Most changes apply instantly through Shopify's order-editing API — the ones that can't are cancelled and re-created automatically, with a note on both timelines.
Duplicate any past order in one click to rebuild it as a new order with the same customer, items, discounts, and shipping.
Optionally enable the customer editing window in Settings, so shoppers can adjust their own contact info, address, or items for a set time after checkout.

How Shopify merchants use it
Frequently asked questions
How is this different from Shopify's own draft orders?
Draft orders are for building a new order before it's placed. NV Order Editor edits orders that already exist — real, placed orders with a customer and payment attached — which Shopify's admin doesn't let you change directly beyond a few fields.
What happens when an edit isn't supported by Shopify's API?
The app detects it automatically — a customer change, a price change on an already-fulfilled line, a currency change — and offers to cancel the order and create an exact replacement with your changes applied, writing a note to both orders' timelines so nothing is lost.
Can customers really edit their own orders?
Only if you turn it on. Growth and Pro plans include an optional editing window (as short as 15 minutes or as long as you like) where a signed-in customer can update their contact info, address, or items from their own Shopify customer account — and it closes automatically when the window ends.
